At pirkx, we run work experience and internship opportunities throughout the year. We are passionate about creating meaningful work experience and internship opportunities. We believe that giving young people hands-on experience not only helps them develop valuable workplace skills but also brings fresh ideas and new perspectives to our team.
This summer, we were delighted to welcome Checky to pirkx for a week of work experience with our marketing team. During her placement, she explored a range of marketing disciplines, from campaign planning and content creation to CRM, social media, and brand communications. As part of her placement, Checky developed a draft marketing campaign presentation, demonstrating creativity, strategic thinking, and a real enthusiasm for learning.
One of our favourite campaign concepts was a Wellbeing Passport, encouraging members to complete wellbeing activities and collect stamps before earning an exclusive reward. It was a fantastic example of customer-focused thinking and perfectly reflected our mission of making wellbeing more engaging and accessible.
Another standout idea from Checky's campaign proposal was the introduction of a 'Refer a Friend' Prize Draw. Under the concept, every member who successfully refers a friend to pirkx would be automatically entered into a prize draw, creating an engaging incentive to encourage referrals while rewarding our loyal members. We loved how the idea combined customer engagement with business growth in a simple, fun, and effective way.
Feedback from CEO and Founder, Stella Smith, included:
"Checky contributed some fantastic creative ideas throughout the week and was a real asset to the team. It was a pleasure to see her enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence shine through."
Reflecting on her experience, Checky said:
"pirkx was the most welcoming company I have ever worked with. They truly helped me fit in and gave me amazing skills for my future career. I would recommend pirkx to anyone who wants to achieve in life!"
At pirkx, we continually evolve our work experience programme to ensure students gain relevant, practical skills. Alongside traditional marketing activities, we encourage students to explore emerging technologies such as AI, understand how these tools can be used responsibly, and take advantage of additional training opportunities to support their future careers.
A huge thank you to Checky for all of her hard work, enthusiasm, and fantastic ideas throughout the week. It was a pleasure having her as part of the team, and we wish her every success in the future.
