May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to dedicate awareness to others and yourself, and to encourage wellbeing in every aspect of modern life, especially in our stressful, fast-paced society and workplaces.
Here at pirkx, we are committed to encouraging supportive habits that protect and value our team’s mental health. This month more than ever, we are focused on providing resources to help maintain strong wellbeing and balance.
What is Mental Health Awareness 2025?
This year’s theme, In Every Story There Is a Strength, reminds us that every individual’s journey is unique, marked by resilience and growth. Yet, the distinctiveness of personal growth can often create feelings of solitude and loneliness. It's important that we acknowledge each other’s journeys and support positive change and self-advancement.
In 2023, 1 in 5 young people and children aged 8 to 25 faced mental health challenges. Among 17 to 19-year-olds specifically, this number rose to 23.3%. Furthermore, the cost of living crisis has taken a significant toll on adults’ mental health. In fact, 64% of therapists reported an increase in clients seeking support for stress and anxiety over the past year.
The challenge doesn’t end there, the rising cost of services like counselling and therapy has made it harder for people to get the help they need. That’s why, at pirkx, we believe it's crucial to recognise these struggles this month and highlight the range of wellbeing benefits we offer, helping you manage work and life without breaking the bank.
